Join us to help shape the park’s future
Moseley Park and Pool Trust is looking for brilliant new trustees to join its Board.
Moseley Park and Pool is a unique oasis tucked away between Moseley and Balsall Heath in South Birmingham. The park is open to the general public, free of charge, between 10am and 4pm on five to eight days each month, as well as at our regular ‘Pay What You Feel’ community arts and nature events. We also support 70 local charities and schools by providing free year-round access for their pupils/clients, and have over 1600 members who get daily access from £5 a month. We host tennis, angling and yoga clubs too.
Since 2006, this historic site has been cared for by a group of dedicated volunteers, who aim to safeguard the landscape and wildlife so as many people as possible can enjoy it – now and in the future. We’re now keen to grow and diversify this board of volunteer trustees, to make sure it represents all the communities we serve.
We’d like to hear from enthusiastic and motivated people to join the board for an initial three-year term.
The role involves:
- Attending evening board meetings in Moseley once a month
- Attending some park events and open days when possible
- Joining sub-groups to lead smaller projects (recently inc. pathway development and planting programmes)
We’re looking for people with a wide range of experience and perspectives, so if you think you’ve got the time and enthusiasm to make a difference, please get in touch, whatever your background.
We’d especially like to hear from:
- People who live locally, for example in Moseley, Balsall Heath, Kings Heath, Sparkbrook, or Highgate
- People with knowledge, skills or experience in financial management, landscaping, arboriculture, ecology, fundraising, community development and engagement, arts/event management, and access, inclusion and diversity.
