When you become a key-holder ...
As well as enjoying your wonderful local park, you may apply to join the TENNIS CLUB and the ANGLING CLUB.
If keyholders bring in children, they must be aware that the lake, though not deep, poses a danger, and they must be watchful for children's safety at all times.
Chantry Tennis Club
As key holder of the Park why don't you consider joining Chantry Tennis Club? The club is keen to encourage new members and, as a key holder, you will already be familiar with the facilities on offer. There is a special family membership category and also special rates for juniors and students. All members are required to be Park key holders and to pay the annual Park subscription for their household in the usual way.
The club welcomes players of all standards and coaching is available for those who wish to improve their game. The club enters teams in the local leagues, and organises its own competitions. There is a programme of social events and social membership is available for those who do not wish to be playing members. For further details please contact the Membership Secretary Chris Harris on 07970 495 097
Moseley Park Angling Club
The Pool in Moseley Park is some three and a half acres in area. It is fed by an underground spring, entering at the southern end of the pool and overflowing at the northern end over a sill and eventually into Cannon Hill Park, approximately half a mile down the road.
The depth of the pool range from two to five feet at the overflow end. The pool houses around 300 Common and Mirror Carp, averaging 10 lbs with several near the 20 lb mark. Bream to 4 lbs are plentiful along with Roach, Perch and Tench.
The angling club has a membership of 130, with no waiting list, and fishes six contests a year with a silver cup for each winner. A children's contest is fished each year and is open to any child (not just children of club members) aged between 2 and 15 years.
For Angling Club enquiries please contact Dave Walker on 0121 745 8719, or visit the Moseley Park Angling Club website
The management committee will continue to be watchful for the safety and well-being of anyone who comes into the park.
