Black swans

We are sad to report that one of the Park’s black swans, Delilah has died. She died on January 29 and seems to have been attacked at the feeding station by a dog. She was quite feisty and was probably protecting her domain. Being injured, she swam with the male black swan – Samson – to the dam wall end of the Park and died in the water. She has been buried in the park.

Since then Samson has swallowed a stick lying in the water – probably from storm Doris – and has badly injured his gullet. If he survives he will then be taken to a sanctuary to recover.

We are sad to lose our Black Swans Samson and Delilah.
