Annual membership

Becoming a Park Member

For an annual fee of £45 a year (or £55 if you have private gate access) you can become a Member of the Park and get your own electronic key. Initially, there is also a returnable deposit of £7 for your individually-numbered electronic key fob. If you elect to pay by Direct Debit then you will get a discount of £5 on the annual fee. If you are a tax payer please complete a Gift Aid form as this increases our income by 25% for each subscription at no additional cost to yourself. You will receive a reminder each year to renew your subscription. The annual membership covers the 12 months from 1st April till 31st March. Please note that for 2018, the renewal date will be delayed until May at the earliest, because we are updating our systems; all fobs will remain active during this extended period.

Having a key allows you and your family, plus any visiting friends or relations to support the park and get access to the park from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year.

We hold an annual meeting of Keyholder Members so that we can discuss the management of the Park and update members on any future plans we may have.

Why we need a key

There are two main reasons.

Firstly, finance. Unlike other public parks, Moseley Park is owned and run by a Charitable Trust – not the local authority. Therefore, we receive no financial support for any local authority and rely entirely on membership fees, donations from the public and fund raising events in the park itself. The park costs in excess of £50,000 per year just to maintain it.

The main reason why the Trust continues to be financially viable is due to the kind support of our many Keyholder Members who, by taking out annual memnership of £45 per year, get their own key.

Secondly, security. We has a duty to maintain a safe and secure environment. Maintaining security of the park helps us manage that in a much more cost effective way.
